SUPPORTIVE THERAPY
Intervision group
Professional communication and joint work of fellow practitioners to analyze complex client cases. Mutual support in the face of professional burnout.
When, where, how much?
On Mondays, 18:00-21:00 Kyiv time. Online, Zoom platform.
The cost of participation is UAH 750/1.
About what?
The topics of the Intervention Group include analyzing client cases, discussing techniques and approaches. Elements of therapy: supportive practices, discussion of difficulties in work.
Who for?
For psychologists and psychotherapists practicing during the war. Who from time to time encounter difficult cases and need to analyze them in a professional manner.
Every therapist has his or her own compass
All of them are identical in structure, each shows the same cardinal points, and all help you navigate and move in the right direction. But every compass owner makes mistakes, because the scales always have certain deviations…
It is the same in psychotherapy.
There are dozens of directions, hundreds of authors of concepts and therapeutic approaches… Everyone is moving in the same direction of healing. But there may be some inaccuracies along the way.
So we need interventions. Equals with equals. In a safe environment, without competition and aggression.
Sharing experience and mutual support in case of professional burnout
No matter how much experience you have, you need to give it away regularly. To free your hands and take on new ones.
Bringing your vision, experience, and perspective – and taking others. To give and receive feedback on cases that you do not have the strength to take away. Share what you have heard, seen, and felt. Sometimes turn the format into a therapeutic and supportive one, because psychological burnout catches up with everyone in war, and helping professionals are the first to suffer from it.
So I invite you to join the Intervention Group.

Protocol
2. The intervener presents the case. The rest of the participants are silent and listen attentively. The intervener also formulates a request: what exactly he expects from his colleagues: practical recommendations, alternative points of view or support.
3. After the case is presented, participants ask explanatory questions about the case and the participant’s feelings. The positive aspects of the case and the work already done are highlighted.
4. Next, all group members talk about their subjective hypotheses and versions of what they heard. The basic rule is that this is done through “I-messages”: “it seems to me that…”, ‘I have such a fantasy that…’, ‘I would have been in the place of…’. The participant who presented the case does not engage in a dialog, but only records what he or she heard.
5. The case study ends with a feedback from the participant whose case was considered: what he or she took away from the case study and how it was useful for him or her.
Payment
In the future, this will be a permanent link that you will pay for yourself until the start of the intervals.
War
That’s why we are all worried about the possibilities of training amidst bombing and blackouts.
But look.
First of all, we have been working like this – in conditions of complete uncertainty – for the third year in a row. And we have some experience in successfully overcoming negative circumstances. For example, my first course “War Won’t Write It Off” was held in the conditions of complete blackout in the winter of 2022/23. But we, along with a hundred colleagues, managed to cope and gained a great experience. I am sure you also have examples of such overcoming.
Secondly, we will act as we have throughout the war – according to the circumstances. If I don’t have light/communication, then one of my colleagues will conduct the intervention or we will postpone it (we will decide as a group). If you don’t have power/connection, we will either make a recording for you or you can come back the next time (we will reschedule the payment).
Thirdly, there are no ideal favorable circumstances at the moment and they are unlikely to be even after the war. But we still need to work, study, and communicate.
So we will continue not to give up.
Just like the Armed Forces.
Triggers
This can be not only a matter of language, but also of certain topics, prejudices, or even terms.
Please do not forget to indicate this when registering. If there is a group with certain wishes, we will organize separate, individual sessions for them. We want everyone to feel comfortable.
